Measure once. Give the artwork room. Here’s how to plan a spot for a DWS tapestry before you order or mount it.
The size at a glance
- Current tapestry size: 40 × 50 inches.
- Metric equivalent: approximately 102 × 127 cm.
- Mounting points: metal grommets in all four corners.
- Included fittings: two adhesive screws. A frame is not included.

1. Check the wall footprint
Measure the clear space where you want the piece to hang. Use small pieces of removable marking tape, if suitable for your wall, to outline a 40 × 50 inch rectangle in the artwork’s orientation. Stand back and check it from the doorway and the spot where you usually sit.
Allow space around sockets, shelves, lamps and furniture. A mockup shows a room idea; your measurements tell you whether it fits your room.
2. Pick a position that works with the design
Above a desk: check that the main figure or album artwork stays visible above your monitor. Above a bed: leave breathing room between the headboard and the fabric. Beside records or manga: give the artwork a clear area so the smaller details can still be seen.
Try a few positions before choosing your supports. Keep fabric clear of heaters, open flames and other heat sources.
3. Check the surface and fittings
Read the instructions supplied with the adhesive screws, including the suitable surfaces, preparation steps, load guidance and any waiting time. Don’t assume adhesive will hold on textured, damp, dusty or peeling surfaces. For a rented room, check what your landlord permits before attaching anything.
If the supplied fittings aren’t suitable for your wall, choose appropriate supports for that surface and the tapestry. The four grommets are mounting points; the package includes two adhesive screws.
4. Hang through the grommets
Check the spacing between the upper grommets on the actual tapestry before positioning supports. Once the supports are ready according to their instructions, hang the fabric through the grommets and check that it sits evenly. Avoid pulling the fabric tight or forcing a grommet onto a support that doesn’t fit.
